About Me
As a proud product of Guyana, a small country on
the mainland of South America, I bring to KASDEC
a multicultural and unique perspective as I seek
to work diligently in ensuring the development,
achievement of independence and normalization
of everyday living of the intellectually disabled
Having received my elementary, secondary and
tertiary educational and work experience in
Guyana, I left my homeland and extended my
work experience in the British Virgin Islands as
well as the United States where I am presently a
high school chemistry teacher in Philadelphia
Pennsylvania.
With a multicultural and multidimensional work
experience at both the corporate and education
field in Guyana, the British Virgin Islands, and the
United States, I come to this experience of caring
for the intellectually disabled, having dealt with
individuals from a wide spectrum of intellectual,
emotional, and social backgrounds.
More significantly, my passion for this endeavor
of caring for individuals with intellectual
disabilities has been partly fueled by my close
connection and observation of a family member
whose care of a severely, intellectually disabled
child taught me the value and benefit of loving
care and dedication to such individuals in
normalizing their lives. Through this experience, I
am further motivated to dedicate my life to the
intellectually disabled.
With this motivation and strong conviction in the
value of loving care and dedication to the
intellectually disabled, I am deeply committed to
the care of such individuals for whom my goal is
to enable them to be independent and functional
individual, capable of normal independent living
after exposure to such care at my facility.
